The prescribed exercises were hugely useful and I had resolution of the tendinitis symptoms which had been becoming worse prior to me seeing him. “I first went to see Ameet with lower back pain resulting from a personal training injury. Conventional physiotherapy hadn’t helped with my pain and I had a history of back issues going back more than a decade. I felt a change within 2-3 weeks of starting his recommended exercise plan. My back pain reduced at first gradually and then significantly over a period of around three months. I went from not being able to pick up my one year old daughter, sit for periods of more than half an hour or walk at a normal pace to being able to do all these things again during the course of treatment. He suggested a series of initial exercises to improve my range of movement and help with alignment, adjusting or adding exercises as needed as my back grew stronger and my pain improved. I cannot recommend Ameet highly enough and will encourage everyone who wants to eliminate back pain and improve their posture and lifestyle to reach out to him. I’ve suffered from back pain and knee pain most of my life. I have previously attributed the cause to spending a lot of time in front of the computer. I have visited many physiotherapists in London and tried all sorts of procedures and strengthening exercises with little to no help. Ameet helped me see the root cause of the pain is from posture, as well as ways to cure the pain from the ground up. “Five stars to Ameet for helping me to rectify my poor posture. My story below. My posture had suffered badly after years of sedentary working. I felt that it was responsible for my lack of energy, easy fatiguability and lack of enthusiasm for physical activity. Needless to say, my mental enthusiasm wasn’t great either! I came across the Egoscue method on the web while looking for a way to make myself better. I gave some of the exercises a go and was surprised to find that I felt better and not shattered as a gym session or other exercise regimes used to do to me. I decided to give the Egoscue method a proper try by consulting a therapist rather than DIYing. I found Ameet Bhakta’s name on the web and after perusing his website I took the plunge. Here is what he found wrong with my posture after our first consultation: Significant external rotation (turning out) of feet, Significant external rotation (turning out) of knees, Significant valgus knee stress, Significant hip/pelvic disparity, Significant shoulder disparity, Significant head tilt right, Significant/severe swayback posture, Significant increased thoracic kyphosis, Significant shoulder protraction (forward rounding of shoulder), Significant head forward position! Every part of me was out of keel, so no wonder I felt the way I did! I have been practising the exercises prescribed for me by Ameet for one and half years, with the menu of exercises changing every 6 weeks after follow-up consultations, going from easy to more and more challenging; with Ameet making sure that I was doing the exercises correctly during every consultation (so consultation time was not just “chat time” but “sweat/work time”) — “Significant” has changed to “Mild to Moderate” in the litany of problems with my posture. My progress would have been faster but for several unavoidable “exercise free” gaps for travel and other commitments. From “Significant” to “mild to moderate” may not seem much but I now have much more body awareness, am more upright, and feel a lot better and more energetic. I have also brightened up mentally. I would like to encourage anyone who is at their wits end with their pain to book an appointment with Ameet at the Health Through Posture clinic. I visited Ameet with lower back pain which had on and off lasted years and which was stopping me from doing what I love, running, and making it hard to do what I do as a living, equine livery manager. Let’s say lower back pain doesn’t marry well with stables to muck out, horses to exercise and a farm to run. I’m really pleased to say that by following Ameet’s exercise program, I am 100% back pain free, and I am back to running full time (40kms + weekly). ANYONE WITH BACK PAIN READ THIS!! I went to see Ameet Bhakta last February 2017 when my back pain had become so bad I couldn’t even put my shoes on. I figured if I could sort out my posture the rest would follow. I’ve been a hairdresser for 30 years so have a lot of work related pain. I’ve had acupuncture, I go to the osteopath regularly, one on one Pilates, I’d tried the Alexander technique in the past. I’ve spent a lot of money over the last 20 years on my back. Nothing worked. I decided to visit Ameet after coming across him online. I’d signed up for his emails that sent through exercises for posture. The exercises always looked really good but of course I never tried them! When I decided to give him a try I truly believed at the age of 48 that I’d never be able to function without constant pain again. After carefully studying me and taking photos that clearly showed my learned posture Ameet gave me some exercises that I had to do every day for about 20- 30 mins. Within one month I could see the improvement and it just got better as I continued with them. I went to see Ameet maybe about 4 or 5 times to have the exercises tweaked as I went along. I did the exercises pretty religiously for about 3 months and then from time to time for the next few months. I still do them a bit now by incorporating them in to the small exercise regime that I have. The exercises are emailed to you and I know that if at any point I need to revisit them I have all the info I need. I will go to see Ameet again at some point as I believe these are the kind of exercises that we all should do to keep on track for a fully functioning and healthy body whether in pain or not. “I’m 40 and have always been active. I’ve also had postural issues since being a teenager, compounded by working solely in office roles. I play football and run a lot, but over the last few years the minor injuries have got worse and harder to shift (in my hamstring, groin, and glutes) and being active seemed like it was becoming less of an option. There’s also the slight hump and stiffness in my upper back that has been a feature of my adult life that I’d never been able to do anything about.
