My journey from debilitating pain to posture specialist

Living with chronic pain and poor posture, can be tough and frustrating. If you haven’t experienced it, it’s difficult to understand how much it can affect someone.

I developed severe repetitive strain injury and back pain when I was sixteen years old. I felt like I had to protect my body because it was weak, and I couldn’t do the activities I wanted.

Over the years, I saw many doctors and specialists. I tried various treatments, but nothing gave me lasting relief. No-one seemed to understand what I was going through. The lowest point came when my girlfriend had to wash my hair because my hands hurt so much.

In the end I decided I had to fix myself rather than have someone fix me. I read countless books on pain and how the body works. I did daily stretches and exercises, changed my mindset and worked on my posture. Slowly but surely the pain went away.

Years later I started asking myself “what do I want to do with my life?” and I had an idea – help people live pain-free!

It seemed perfect. I’d suffered with poor posture and pain, so I would know what they were going through. And I had fixed it, so I could show them how to do the same.

I began studying for a Masters Degree in Osteopathy. After three years of training, I discovered my true passion: posture.

I left Osteopathy in 2013 and got certified as a Posture Alignment Specialist by the Egoscue Institute. Health Through Posture was born!

Over ten years later and I’ve helped thousands of people with their alignment. The youngest aged five, and the oldest eighty-eight! A lot of people visit me because they’re in pain. Many come because they’re unhappy with how they look, or worried about aging.

I love what I do – it’s interesting and important work. I’m always amazed by how much the body can change if you give it the right things.

Have a good look around this website and I hope you find something that helps. Maybe we’ll meet one day either in London, Tunbridge Wells or on the other side of a screen. Take care!
